5 shoes a man should own

It is true that a woman cannot have too many shoes in her collection but the same does not hold true for a man. Men usually do not need a different shoe for every occasion and they don't have to match a shoe with a purse or a bag.
Ask your girlfriend or wife how many pairs are essential to her wardrobe and you are definitely in for a double-digit answer if not triple-digit. For men, the answer will fit on one hand.
Here is my take on 5 shoes a man should own.
 The Wholecut Black Dress Shoe
The pair of shoe that is an envy of every other man, the wholecut shoe. The one that is made of a single piece of leather without any patches. There is just a single seam in the back of the shoe. Elegance at its best. Black goes with almost everything you will be wearing for any formal occasion.

The Brown Oxfords
When looking for oxfords, you dont want something too pointy or too round; you want the one with just the right look. The one that will look great with either jeans or with dress pants. And while you are at it, go for the wingtip.

The Sneakers
The pair you need to add style and kicks to your casual friday or casual any day look. I am not talking about sneakers for a marathon or for a trail hike; but a pair that complements your khakhis or jeans and if you do have to run a marathon or hike a trail, would not be brutal on your feet.

The Desert Boots
This is a perfect casual shoe and it is as comfortable as it gets. The classic color is, surprise surprise, the desert color. Keep a pair with a thick sole that gives it a dressier look if the occasion calls for it.

The Flip Flops
Whether you are in a hurry or just plain lazy to put on shoes or want to give your feet some freedom, flip flops become a must have in every man's possession.
