So what can you do when a pimple shows up? Yes there is photoshop, but for those times when you can't walk into a room with photoshop, it's time to think like a makeup artist! With the right techniques you can cover up that zit so that no one will notice.
Step 1: Start with foundation
Even if you don't wear foundation
every day, when you have a major blemish, it's best to use it all over to even
things out. It'll make it easier to camouflage the zit, and it helps concealer
last. Then pick a cream concealer that matches your skin color. (If it's too
light, it will show.)
Step 2: Dab concealer only on the pimple, not all around it
Step 2: Dab concealer only on the pimple, not all around it
A brush with a tiny, narrow head
will give you precise coverage; I use a lip brush. Swipe concealer on the back
of your hand, dip your brush in, then dot the makeup on the spot in one to two
thin layers.
Step 3: Blend it in
Using your ring finger, which has
the gentlest touch, tap around the pimple's edges to blend.
Step 4: Set with powder
It's the difference between coverage that lasts all day versus
only a few hours. Choose a pigmented powder that's close to your skin tone and
dust it on top of the concealer. Don't use translucent powder, which can have a
pearly finish that makes a blemish look shiny—not what you want.
Step 5: Finish with rosy lipstick
and mascara
It'll draw the focus to your eyes
and lips.
