Once a sales target is established, empower employees to use the methods and styles they are most comfortable with to meet those goals.
Step 2
Prevent discouragement in salespeople by setting individual and realistic sales goals. Sales targets should be challenging yet achievable. Break down a yearly or quarterly dollar goal into smaller monthly or weekly goals, and track progress on a chart or software program. Make note of sales successes and continuously monitor sales activities to see what works and doesn't. Adjust activities as needed to keep sales momentum flowing.

Remind your sales staff that sales managers or bosses are available for mentoring or one-on-one coaching, and at the end of each sales meeting ask sales staff what you can do to support their efforts.
